At a recent funeral I came across this wonderful, evocative poem especially appropriate for a Catholic funeral Mass. This was the first time I'd heard this and it struck me as a wonderful celebration of how ordinary things brings us closer together.
This is a new favourite of ours, a great funeral poem set to wonderful music. We knew of the poem, but the musical setting only came to our notice last year.
We are often asked to sing songs in a service that are special to the family, and we in turn enjoy sharing readings and poems chosen by the family to celebrate a loved one's life.
Almost every funeral we attend includes spoken poetry as well as music. As an English graduate, our mezzosoprano funeral singer Kirsty is particularly delighted to hear it.
